When you've been in this business for over 30 years, you think you know what your customers experience. You think you know because you built the process, you trained the team, and you took the calls yourself on weekends.
But there's a difference between thinking you know and actually asking.
A while back, we started sending a simple survey to hotel teams after every installation. We wanted to hear the good, bad and ugly ... whether it went perfectly or not. Our goal is constant improvement, so we wanted to hear it all.
But first, a few words from Founder and CEO, Steve Blidner...
Across more than 80 responses from hotel managers, IT directors, and general managers at properties spanning Marriott, IHG, Hilton, Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, and independent flags, here's what we found:
Those numbers are meaningful. But the comments are where the real story lives.
We're not going to put names to these. That's not the point. What matters is that these are real people, at real properties, describing real experiences — the good, the complicated, and the honest.
On the installation process:
On the support team:
On making the switch:
On the relationship:
Not every survey was five stars. We're including this because we think it matters.
A small number of respondents noted challenges: the screen was damaged in shipping., connectivity hurdles during setup, an installation that took longer than expected due to a third-party software dependency.
Here's what we noticed about every single one of those responses: the person still rated TTI's *team* highly. Because what they described wasn't a TTI failure — it was a problem that got solved.
One respondent put it this way:
"During shipping the screen was broken, but after speaking with your team they sent us a new one and communication was flawless."
Another noted a complex installation that dragged on for months — not because of anything on our end, but due to integration issues with a third-party platform. His assessment of TTI throughout the process?
"TTI team was great throughout."
That's the standard we hold ourselves to. Not that nothing ever goes wrong — things go wrong in hospitality technology. The question is whether you have a partner who answers the phone, owns the problem, and sees it through.
If you're a hotel owner, manager, or IT director reading this and your current business center vendor is making you work too hard — for answers, for replacements, for basic support — that's worth paying attention to.
The feedback above didn't come from hotels that had easy installations or perfect circumstances. It came from full-service Marriott properties, IHG franchises, independent boutiques, and everything in between. Different markets, different challenges, different team sizes.
What they had in common: they reached out to a vendor they weren't sure about, and it turned out differently than they expected.
That's what we're here to do.
